Break the weather

We had a break in the weather this last weekend, so we decided to take the RV to the coast and put into a storage facility. The weather cooperated and we made it with no issues. We parked the RV in Vancouver and were able to distribute Christmas presents to 2 of my daughters and grandkids. The drive back was in a couple of hours of downpouring rain. I84 was closed due a land slide so we took the Washington side on Hwy 14. Now it can snow without me worrying about pulling a trailer 300 miles on icy roads.

December pause

Update... we were closing the house deal on November 30th... We had a date and time from the title company and we were ready. The RV was loaded and ready to go, then the bank backed out with our buyer! We now have it back on the market and have more showings... I don't see getting out of town for at least a month. We may spend the winter here in town at a RV park until the weather breaks. It is what it is... we will go with the flow. It is a little different camping in our house, most everything has been sold or given away...

October

We are finally getting to the end... We put the house on the market in October and a week later we accepted an offer. We had spent the summer getting the house and property ready to sale so we missed the summer.  We hope to be out of here and on the road mid-November (if everything lines up). We did get away for a couple of weekend trips.  I will need to do a review of my RV. I found some issues along with plusses.  More as we get closer...

We are still working on getting the house ready for sale. The amount of stuff one accumulates in a life time, wow.  Anyway, the State finally opened the state campgrounds for camping, so I booked a couple of days at Steamboat State Park. Roxanne's schedule changed so I called my daughter, Cindy and we met at the park. We stayed at site 84, which is located next to the lake.  It is considered popular full hookup site and it cost $50 a night, a pretty steep price, but the sites are level, long and paved.... Everyone must be tired of staying home because the park was full. I didn't bring the kayaks, figuring it would be cold, but it turned out great. Next time I going to try for site b36 in the newer portion, it is next to the road, but I can stare at the Rock all day. We stayed until Thursday morning at then headed north to camp on the Chewuch River. This will be the first time I will be camping off the grid. I picked a spot in the Upper Bobcat Access just south of Falls Creek. T

1st trip in the new RV.  We got away for a couple of days even if most campgrounds were closed.  We stayed at Sun Lakes Park Resort,  Washington.  Off season rates and all RVs were separated by at least a camping spot. Very windy Sunday night but we still got a nice walk in to Vic Myers Lake. Monday traveled to see the rest of the Sun Lakes and ate in Soap Lake.  A note on the campground, cell service is poor,  their WI FI was good strength but didn't connect with the web,  and in the regular season this place would cramped for space and privacy. The State Park next door is worse unless you camp at the Vic Myers Lake portion.
